In a memo, the Swiss Foreign Ministry calls the actions of the Russian authorities "an arbitrary repressive measure in response to sanctions,"writes NZZ am Sonntag

FSB officers came with searches to the Russian office of the Swiss luxury watch manufacturer Audemars Piguet and confiscated goods worth several million francs, the NZZ am Sonntag newspaper reported, citing a memo from the Swiss Foreign Ministry to members of the country's parliamentary commission on foreign policy. This information was also confirmed by three sources.

The confiscation of Audemars Piguet watches on his YouTube channel was announced by one of the members of the commission on foreign policy of the Swiss parliament, the publisher of the magazine Die Weltwoche, Roger Keppel. According to him, cited by the Wantson news portal, the confiscation took place on March 22.

The Russian authorities explained their actions as a violation of customs rules, according to a note from the Swiss Foreign Ministry, while the department believes that this is “most likely an arbitrary repressive measure in response to sanctions,” NZZ am Sonntag notes.

The publication notes that the events around Audemars Piguet took place a few days after Switzerland imposed sanctions against RUSSIA, including a ban on the EXPORT of cars and luxury goods.
