The growth in the cost of sanitary ware in RUSSIA for certain positions in February-April amounted to 70%, faucets, sinks and toilets in the economy segment grew the most in price. This is stated in a study by the construction company Pridex (available from RBC).
Compared to the same period in 2021, faucets, sinks, toilet bowls and economy-class installations have risen in price by an average of 20-70%. According to Alexander Aleinikov, commercial DIRECTOR of Pridex, Chinese and Turkish suppliers are actively taking advantage of the situation of increased demand associated with the departure of European brands and raising the cost of their products.
At the same time, the same premium items increased in price by 5–25% (in 2021, this figure did not rise above 10%). Pridex notes that, despite a less pronounced rise in prices, there is a much larger deficit in the premium segment than in the economy segment: in particular, such companies as Hansgrohe, Axor, Duravit, Villeroy & Boch, Geberit and Grohe have limited their activities in Russia .

"Kommersant" learned about the problems with the supply of plumbing and building materials Business
Pavel Gavrilov, vice-president of the block for creating projects at the development company GloraX, also told RBC that in the premium class the cost of plumbing has increased to 40-50%, and even higher for some brands. “First of all, because the expensive segment was represented by European manufacturers. Complicated logistics now account for a significant share of their cost,” he specified.
At the same time, Gavrilov noted that among the manufacturers of budget plumbing, there are many Russian companies that have no problems with the delivery of products, so the price increase in this segment is “not so rapid”.
In turn, the commercial director of the Strana Development Group of Companies, Alexander Gutorov, told RBC about a much smaller range of price increases for plumbing - from 15 to 30%. “When compared in annual dynamics, the growth ranged from 15 to 30%. Of course, in the premium and business segment prices have risen more. This is primarily due to the fact that due to problems in logistics it has become more difficult to deliver materials or look for an alternative to them, this process lays its share of the rise in price. In the economy class, the growth is slightly less, because domestic materials are mainly used, while the cost of work has risen more,” he said.
