The US military budget does not contain any mention of sanctions on Nord Stream 2. The document was published by the relevant committee of the House of Representatives.
“The bill of the House of Representatives contained a provision that ordered the president to impose sanctions on Nord Stream 2. The Senate amendment did not contain a similar provision. The agreement does not include this provision,” the draft says.
The document also does not include a provision to ban Americans from transactions related to Russia's sovereign debt. Initially, it was assumed that if the amendment was adopted, the US president could lift the ban in the absence of evidence of Moscow's interference in the American elections.
The congressional proposal on sanctions against 35 Russians from “Putin’s entourage”, including Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, HEAD of the Central Election Commission Ella Pamfilova, press secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov, as well as businessmen Roman Abramovich and Alisher Usmanov and others, was also not included in the final draft budget.
