The British authorities are aware of the consequences of the sanctions imposed against RUSSIA for the population and business, but are ready to make these sacrifices in order to support Ukraine, Foreign Minister of the Kingdom Liz Truss said at a speech in Parliament (the video was published on YouTube by The Telegraph).

“Britain and our allies will face some economic hardship as a result of our sanctions. But these difficulties are nothing compared to what the Ukrainian people are going through, ”Truss emphasized.

The minister presented bills that would allow the introduction of new sanctions against Russia. Truss said that the authorities intend to completely freeze the assets of VTB, VEB.RF, Sovcombank and other banks, as well as ban the EXPORT of various goods to Russia, including those necessary for the defense industry.

“I am aware of the consequences this step will have for the British people and British companies that operate in Russia,” Truss said, assuring that the authorities will support the subjects of the kingdom in Russia and Ukraine and help businesses.

Addressing the Ukrainians, she stressed that London and its allies are ready to "make economic sacrifices" to support Kyiv "for as long as it takes."
