British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has expressed his readiness to strengthen sanctions against RUSSIA if Moscow does not take steps to resolve the conflict in Ukraine . Starmer's statement was published on the British government's website.

"We will increase the pressure on Russia's war machine by introducing even more sanctions that are already causing significant damage to its economy and population," the statement said.

Starmer also welcomed US President Donald Trump's efforts to resolve the conflict and said the next step should be negotiations with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov previously said the Russian economy continues to operate under "a huge number of sanctions" and has developed "a certain immunity" to them.
