The US Department of Commerce will not allow flights of 100 aircraft that flew to Russia after the introduction of new restrictions and which, as the authorities believe, violate export control measures.
This list includes the Gulfstream G560 used by businessman Roman Abramovich. The remaining 99 aircraft are Boeings operated by Russian airlines. 33 aircraft from the list are used by Aeroflot, as well as Utair (12), Nordwind (14), Azur Air (23), AirBridge Cargo (12) and Aviastar-TU (5) aircraft. “By banning these aircraft from receiving any service, including from abroad, [we] are effectively banning international flights from Russia on these aircraft,” the agency said in a statement.
In the text, the ministry reminds that refueling, maintenance, repair of such aircraft, sale of spare parts for them violate export regulations. Violators face "significant prison terms, fines, loss of export rights and other restrictions."
The United States closed the sky for Russian aircraft Politics
The HEAD of the Ministry of Commerce, Gina Raimondo, said that the publication of the list should make it clear: the United States will not allow "Russian and Belarusian carriers and oligarchs to fly with impunity, violating [American] laws."
