Washington has imposed visa restrictions on 2,596 Russian military personnel and 13 Belarusian military officials, now these people, as well as members of their families, will not be eligible for an American visa, the US State Department said . A complete list of names has not been published.

The military is accused of violating human rights. The State Department believes that all persons included in the list are responsible for actions “that threaten or violate the sovereignty, territorial integrity or political independence of Ukraine”, or supported them.

In particular, the list includes the former commander of the special forces brigade of the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus Dmitry Pavlichenko, the former HEAD of the department Yuri Sivakov and the former presidential affairs manager Yuri Sheiman.

The United States also placed eight Russian companies associated with the maritime sector and shipping on the sanctions list:

The State Department stressed that they took such a step, since the Russian government uses maritime shipping "to achieve its strategic goals", supply troops and EXPORT energy resources.
