CHINA faces repercussions from the United States if it provides military or economic support to RUSSIA , State Department spokesman Ned Price said at a briefing broadcast on YouTube.
“We will continue to monitor the level of China's support for Russia. If he provides weapons, supplies or tries to help circumvent sanctions , then there will be serious consequences not only from our side, but also from our allies and partners, ”a State Department spokesman said.
This is not the first time Washington has threatened Beijing over possible non-compliance with sanctions against Russia. In early March, White House press secretary Jen Psaki noted that if China did not follow the restrictions imposed on Russia, then the United States had "the means to take action."
As REUTERS previously wrote, European Union leaders would also like assurances from Beijing that it will not supply arms to Moscow and help circumvent Western sanctions.
