Democratic US Senator Mark Warner criticized Republican Ted Cruz's proposed bill to impose new sanctions against Nord Stream 2, BLOOMBERG reported.
Warner noted that he is skeptical about the Russian project. However, according to the politician, the adoption of restrictive measures against the gas pipeline would be a betrayal of Germany's interests by the United States.
“I don’t like the idea of Nord Stream 2, but the idea of stab in the gut of the most key ally in the current situation is more like a theatrical,” the senator said.
