Sanctions against RUSSIA because of Navalny

Washington may impose sanctions on Moscow over the arrest of opposition leader Alexei Navalny as early as March 2, REUTERS reports, citing two sources familiar with the matter. According to the agency, Washington will impose sanctions, relying, among other things, on the Chemical and Biological Weapons Control Act of 1991.

A bill providing for sanctions against those involved in the poisoning and imprisonment of Navalny was submitted to the US Congress in early February. it provides for an asset freeze and visa denial, but the names and positions of those who may fall under the restrictions are not disclosed.
