“In view of the anti-Russian sanctions periodically imposed by the regime of [Canadian Prime Minister] Justin Trudeau against officials, politicians, experts, journalists, cultural figures and athletes from Russia, as well as anyone who does not suit the Ottawa “mainstream” and the neo-Nazi authorities supported by it in Kiev, entry into the Russian Federation is closed on a permanent basis for 333 Canadian citizens.

The Foreign Ministry explained that representatives of the Canadian leadership, parliamentarians and politicians at various levels, as well as social activists and athletes "involved in the spread of rabid Russophobia in the country" were included in the "stop list". In particular, the Governor General of Canada Mary Simon, the judge of the International Criminal COURT Kimberly Prost, as well as Canadian figure skaters and Olympic champions Megan Duhamel and Tesa Virtue fell under Russian sanctions.
