ROSSELKHOZNADZOR on January 12 introduced a ban on the import of animals and livestock products from Kazakhstan due to foot and mouth disease. The corresponding message appeared on the website of the department.

“Rosselkhoznadzor introduces temporary restrictions on the import of animals and livestock products from Kazakhstan as precautionary measures in connection with a suspected deterioration in the epizootic situation for foot-and-mouth disease,” the statement said.

The department noted that animals susceptible to foot-and-mouth disease, raw MEAT and MILK fell under the ban . Wool, bristles, hides and skins that have not been processed using virus-destroying technology will also not be allowed to be imported.
