The British company Rolls-Royce will stop buying Russian titanium, which is used to make aircraft engines. This was reported to The Telegraph by chief executive Warren East.

“We have been building up our sources over the past few months. In addition, we have accumulated stocks of our Russian supplier,” he said. “We assume that we will not take titanium from Russia for some time,” East said.

As the newspaper notes, Rolls-Royce has been gradually reducing its dependence on titanium supplies from Russia since 2015, but so far about one-fifth of all deliveries have come from this country.

On February 24, Great Britain imposed sanctions against Russia because of the military operation in Ukraine. VTB, Aeroflot, the United Aircraft Corporation, Rostec, the United Shipbuilding Corporation, Uralvagonzavod and the Tactical Missiles Corporation fell under them. In addition, London introduced a £50,000 ($66,800) limit on the amount of money that Russians can keep in British bank accounts.
