“We all understand that sanctions, of course, are for a long time, therefore, along with priority measures to replace imported technologies and products, medium and long-term transformations are needed here, aimed at the strategic goals of the country’s sovereign development,” the HEAD of state said.

The meeting was dedicated to the development of Russian industry under the sanctions. According to Putin, many industries "find themselves at the epicenter of the sanctions blockade" because its "Western initiators went to a sharp break in trade, economic and cooperation ties."

Nevertheless , Russia was able to replace part of Western products with analogues of its own production or goods from "friendly countries", the president noted.

Putin recalled that after the 2014 sanctions, Moscow restricted access to the domestic market for foreign agricultural products, which “became a significant positive factor for the development of Russian agriculture,” exports grew. “Today, industry, like agriculture then, also has all the conditions for active development,” Putin said.

He called for the creation of a package of support measures that would allow "to ensure the rapid development of the manufacturing industry", as well as to quickly organize their own production of critical products.
