Producers assessed the forecast for a rise in the price of milk and meat in 2020

The forecast for an increase in the price of MILK and dairy products in 2020 by 10–12% is likely. This was announced to RBC by the DIRECTOR General of the National Union of Milk Producers Artem Belov.

This is how Belov assessed the forecast of experts from the Analytical Center under the Government of a rise in the price of milk and MEAT by 10-12% in 2020 due to rising costs of producers. According to experts, this is due to rising prices for raw materials, tariffs for gas and electricity, as well as the introduction of mandatory digital labeling of products.

“If the labeling system that is planned for this year is deployed in 2020, then this can really lead to a serious increase in the cost of production, and, accordingly, to a serious increase in the prices of dairy products,” he said.

According to him, with the introduction of marking, one-time payments will amount to about 25 billion rubles. and another 24 billion rubles. will cost an annual payment for stamps. Thus, the costs in the first year will amount to almost 50 billion rubles. taking into account that the annual profit of the industry is about 35 billion rubles, Belov said.
