According to Morawiecki, the already imposed sanctionsare not working and more “decisive action” is needed to stop the fighting in Ukraine.Among them are measures against United RUSSIA and visa restrictions for Russians.

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said at a press conference that his country had proposed to the European Union to impose sanctions against all members of the United Russia party.

Warsaw voiced this idea at the last meeting of the European Council. According to Morawiecki, Poland considers it necessary to introduce restrictions against all members of "Putin's party", since "he is not the only one responsible" for the situation in Ukraine.

As of 2021, more than 2 million people were members of the party. Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia Dmitry Medvedev, chairman of United Russia, said that the Polish prime minister "went crazy" and in response suggested considering the issue of sanctions against Poland's ruling Law and Justice party.

Morawiecki believes that, in addition, it is necessary to limit the issuance of Schengen visas to Russians, and make an exception only for humanitarian visas for those Russian citizens who want to leave the country.

“We need clear, strong sanctions,” the Morawiecki office of the Polish prime minister quotes. According to him, the already imposed restrictions do not work, and "decisive actions" are needed to force Russia to stop the military operation in Ukraine. “From now on, I call on EU leaders to take steps that will lead to the confiscation of the assets of the Russian Federation in Western Europe, which will lead to the confiscation of the assets of the oligarchs,” he said.
