US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland and EU Deputy Secretary General for Political Affairs Enrique Mora met in Washington to discuss coordination of actions against RUSSIA over Ukraine, according to the State Department website.
Nuland and Mora condemned the military operation in Ukraine and noted that the US and the EU will monitor information "on war crimes and <...> use all available tools to bring the perpetrators to justice as necessary."
In addition, the diplomats touched upon the issues of control over compliance with the restrictions imposed on Russia and the involvement of new countries in sanctions pressure on Moscow. Particular attention was paid to CHINA, which the West urges "not to circumvent or undermine the sanctions against Russia."
“They also discussed additional steps to further isolate Russia from the US and EU economies and the international financial system in order to impose serious costs on Russia for its actions,” the report said.
