The ambassador to the United States warned about the consequences of sanctions for ordinary Americans

The sanctions that the United States imposes on RUSSIA will hurt the global financial and energy markets, which will also affect ordinary Americans. This was stated by Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov, his words were conveyed by the press service of the embassy on FACEBOOK.

“There is no doubt that the sanctions imposed against us will hurt the global financial and energy markets. The United States will not be left out, where ordinary citizens will feel all the consequences of rising prices,” Antonov said.

He stressed that new sanctions against Moscow will not solve anything, since Russia has already learned to work and develop in conditions of restrictions. “It is hard to imagine that anyone in Washington is counting on Russia to revise its foreign policy under the threat of restrictions. I don’t remember a single day when our country lived without any restrictions from the Western world,” he said.

The United States announced sanctions against Russia in connection with the recognition of the LPR and DPR the day before. Restrictions were introduced against the state corporation VEB.RF, the main defense bank, Promsvyazbank (PSB) and their subsidiaries (among them, for example, was the football club CSKA). The US Treasury also imposed restrictions on Russian government debt, banning American financial institutions from any transactions with Russian ruble federal loan bonds (OFZ) or currency sovereign Eurobonds issued after March 1, 2022.
