New Zealand Foreign Minister Nanaya Mahuta announced new sanctions against Russian politicians and the defense sector. The new restrictive measures are directed against 170 members of the Federation Council of RUSSIA and six defense enterprises "which contributed to the encroachment on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine."
New Zealand authorities have also stepped up sanctions on more than 400 people who were previously banned from entering the country.
“This will further prohibit those we have already sanctioned from operating in New Zealand and will prevent New Zealand from becoming a financial haven for those involved in Russia’s illegal actions,” Makhuta said.
