Norway has introduced new restrictions on RUSSIA, joining the tenth package of anti-Russian sanctions of the European Union, agreed on February 25, the Norwegian Foreign Ministry reports.
“Sanctions have an impact on the Russian economy and prevent the flow of key resources to the Russian military industry. Norway is united with the rest of Europe and has joined all EU sanctions packages,” said Norwegian Foreign Minister Anniken Huitfeldt.
The sanctions list includes 87 more individuals and 34 legal entities. The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs notes that there are 1,678 individuals and legal entities on the list. The sanctions also provide for EXPORT restrictions on a number of high-tech products, vehicles, building materials, aviation industry facilities and goods of "potential military use." New restrictions are being introduced on the import of Russian bitumen, asphalt, and synthetic rubber.
In addition, Russians are prohibited from holding senior positions in companies associated with critical infrastructure. it also provides for clarifications on further actions in a number of areas of bilateral relations, including in navigation.
Brussels introduced the tenth package of sanctions at the end of February, banning the export of rare earth metals, construction cranes, power generators and many other goods to Russia. Russian paraffin, petroleum coke, bituminous mixtures fell under import restrictions. Blocking sanctions affected Tinkoff Bank, Rosbank, the National Wealth Fund and other organizations.
