Nickelodeon, MTV, Paramount Comedy will suspend broadcasting in Russia

Broadcasting of Nickelodeon, Paramount Channel, Paramount Comedy and MTV RUSSIA TV channelswill be suspended from 20 April

Paramount Film Studio will suspend broadcasting of its TV channels in Russia from April 20. This was reported to TASS in the Russian press service of the TV channels.

“The press service of MTV Russia, Paramount Comedy, Nickelodeon and Paramount Channel confirms the suspension of broadcasting in Russia,” they said, adding that broadcasting would be suspended on Wednesday.

Earlier, the Cable Guy TELEGRAM channel reported that Paramount would suspend its activities in Russia in the near future. According to the channel, operators have already begun receiving notifications from Paramount about the shutdown of its channel group starting April 20.

In early March, Paramount withdrew its spring premieres from Russian film distribution, including the adventure comedy The Lost City with Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum, Daniel Radcliffe and Brad Pitt in the lead roles, as well as the second part of Sonic the Movie.

Previously, Warner Bros., Sony Pictures and Disney refused spring releases in the country. Later film companies suspended their activities in Russia.

Media company Discovery, which owns 15 entertainment TV channels, including Animal Planet, Eurosport, HGTV and TLC, the streaming platform Netflix, BLOOMBERG, and CNN, CBS News and ABC News, has also ceased operations in Russia.
