“Just a few weeks after the introduction of “hellish” sanctions against Russia, it turned out, as expected, that they are returning to the West like a boomerang,” he said. According to Medvedev, global inflation is increasing, and a recession may be beginning in Europe.

“It is becoming clear that not all states will successfully cope with such a recession, despite the hysterical statements of the national leaders of Western countries,” Medvedev wrote. At the same time, he pointed out, the blocking of Russian banks "did not bring a significant result": the Russians retained access to the Russian payment system and use it.

However, the ban on the EXPORT of Russian energy resources hit ordinary Western citizens who own cars and live in houses with gas heating, the former prime minister believes.
