Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of RUSSIA Dmitry Medvedev published his vision of the development of the situation in the world after the introduction of anti-Russian sanctions. He titled his post on TELEGRAM “What will happen next, or the World after anti-Russian sanctions (not a forecast at all)” and noted that he published it on Friday, May 13.
In total, “not a forecast” consists of ten points. According to Medvedev, the following events await the world:
a major logistical crisis on a global scale and the collapse of foreign airlines due to the ban on flights over Russian territory; energy crisis in countries refusing Russian oil and gas, slowdown in the development of the digital economy; "full-fledged international food crisis", famine in individual countries; financial crisis in some countries, undermining the stability of a number of national currencies and galloping inflation; new regional military conflicts; activation of terrorists; new epidemics; the decline of international institutions; the creation of new, pragmatic international alliances; emergence of a new security architecture in the world.Putin predicted difficult consequences for the EU due to "sanctions obsession" Politics
The day before, Medvedev warned that if the West continues to provide military assistance to Ukraine, including supplying weapons, the risk of a direct confrontation between NATO and Russia will increase, which in turn could lead to a nuclear war. “The pumping of Ukraine by NATO countries with weapons, the training of its troops to use Western equipment, the dispatch of mercenaries and the conduct of exercises by the countries of the alliance near our borders increase the likelihood of a direct and open conflict between NATO and Russia instead of their “war by proxy”. Such a conflict always runs the risk of turning into a full-fledged nuclear war,” Medvedev said.
Commenting on this statement, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia would be ready to give "the most decisive response" to attempts "to get into Ukraine and into a special military operation." At the same time, he stressed that everyone wants to avoid a direct conflict between Russia and NATO.
At the end of March, Vasily Nebenzya, Russia's permanent representative to the UN, predicted an "economic crisis of historic proportions" due to anti-Russian sanctions. In his opinion, attempts to isolate the country from "established long-term channels of cooperation" will lead to this. Nebenzia also added that the "sanction hysteria" threatens the stability of the global food market.
