Sanctions against RUSSIA will be one of the systemic ways to fight against its development and fight for world leadership, each new package of restrictive measures is an attempt to weaken the country to the maximum extent possible, said Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev.
“We understand that these sanctions that have been introduced against our country will be one of the systemic ways to fight for world leadership and fight against the development of our state, our country. Moreover, this will continue for a very, very long time,” Medvedev said.
Lavrov called on African countries to demand the lifting of anti-Russian sanctions Politics
According to him, sometimes the reasons for imposing sanctions against Russia are insignificant, "although this does not apply to the current situation." In addition, Medvedev called sanctions a much more difficult challenge than the CORONAVIRUS pandemic. “Whatever one may say, the whole of humanity tried to fight the pandemic. Nevertheless, here at least there were no such obvious ideological differences. And what is happening now is a completely different story,” Medvedev concluded.
In mid-May, Medvedev listed the possible consequences of the sanctions. However, he noted that his words are not a forecast. He listed ten points:
a major logistical crisis on a global scale and the collapse of foreign airlines due to the ban on flights over Russian territory; energy crisis in countries refusing Russian oil and gas, slowdown in the development of the digital economy; "full-fledged international food crisis", famine in individual countries; financial crisis in some countries, undermining the stability of a number of national currencies and galloping inflation; new regional military conflicts; activation of terrorists; new epidemics; the decline of international institutions; the creation of new, pragmatic international alliances; emergence of a new security architecture in the world.President Vladimir Putin has said that due to the continuation of the "sanctions obsession", the EU will face "the most difficult, intractable consequences" for its citizens, as well as for the poorest countries in the world.
