Liksutov told how Moscow will support transport manufacturers

The Moscow authorities will extend the delivery time under previously concluded contracts, adjust the requirements of the service contract and take a number of other measures to support Russian transport manufacturers in the face of sanctions. This was announced by Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport Maxim Liksutov.

“Moscow is the main customer of Russian urban transport,” said the Vice Mayor. According to him, 90% of all metro cars produced in the country go to the Moscow Metro. In addition, 100% of all electric buses manufactured in RUSSIA, 85% of all suburban trains, and 70% of trams are supplied to the capital, Liksutov noted.

In particular, according to the decision of the Moscow government, it is planned to extend the delivery time under previously concluded contracts, the certification of components and parts on which safety does not depend is also changing, the deputy mayor said. “This is necessary in order to quickly implement technical solutions without compromising the quality of transport,” he explained. Another measure to support the industry will be to adjust the requirement for a service contract, which, according to the plan of the city authorities, will allow the use of spare parts from other manufacturers if the former ones are not available.

“If necessary, the Moscow government is ready to consider signing even longer-term firm contracts (10-15 years) for the supply of all types of urban transport — metro cars, electric buses, trams and suburban electric trains. At the same time, in some cases, we plan to increase the advance paid to manufacturers in the amount of 30% of the annual volume of supply for passenger transport,” Liksutov said.

In addition, Moscow plans to revise the terms or even cancel the bank guarantee for the performance of contracts with "well-established Russian manufacturers of rolling stock." This, according to the vice-mayor, is about such partners of Moscow as KamAZ and GAZ.
