The Kremlin has no information about the role of external forces in the crisis in Nepal, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said at a briefing , an RBC correspondent reports.

"We have no information regarding external interference. We see that the situation has actually gotten out of control," he said.

Peskov also wished Nepal to quickly restore order and ensure the safety of people in the country.

“We wish Nepal a speedy return to the constitutional course, restoration of order, ensuring the safety of citizens and, of course, all tourists, including Russian tourists, who are and may be on the territory of Nepal,” he concluded.

The civil unrest, dubbed the “Generation Z Protest,” began in early September after the government banned some popular social media and messaging apps. The demonstrations escalated into clashes with police, leaving dozens dead and hundreds injured.

Nepal's Prime Minister Sharma Oli was forced to resign and the government was forced to lift the block on social media, but the protests did not stop. Protesters set fire to the Singha Durbar government complex, which houses the country's parliament, and the Gautam Buddha International Airport in Bhairahawa.
