At the end of February, Canada closed its airspace to Russian airlines. The Canadian government has also banned Russian ships and fishing boats from entering its ports or inland waters.

The EU adopted the first package of sanctions against Russia on February 23. Then 351 State Duma deputies fell under the restrictions.
Soon the EU imposed sanctions against Russia's defense, financial and space sectors. The list includes Alfa-Bank, Otkritie, Rossiya Bank and Promsvyazbank, the Ministry of Defense, SVR, Russian Railways, KamAZ, Sovcomflot, Sukhoi, Irkut, Tupolev, USC, and the Rocket and Space Center "Progress".
The third package of restrictions contained sanctions against President Vladimir Putin, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev and Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev. In addition, the EU has closed airspace for Russia.
