Borrell said EU foreign ministers will discuss sanctions against Russian oil Politics
There has been a "significant shift" among European countries on the issue of continued economic pressure on Russia, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing diplomatic sources. According to the publication, there is growing support among them for a pan-European ban on the purchase of Russian oil.
WSJ interlocutors noted that a number of European countries remain reluctant to support a ban on oil imports from Russia, suggesting that the issue of gradual introduction of restrictions, rather than a sudden cessation of supplies, be considered, provided that the situation in Ukraine worsens. Diplomats noted in an interview with the newspaper that the EU is not discussing the possibility of limiting natural gas supplies from Russia.
