According to a White House spokesman, Biden agrees that it was the actions of the Russian president that led to a structural problem in the oil market as in the US,and all over the world

US President Joe Biden called the rise in the price of a gallon of gasoline in the US market "Putin's rise in price", acknowledging that the jump in prices began even before the events in Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the White House.

“In terms of collective action [to combat rising energy prices] and actions taken with other countries, as you all know, the United States has a much larger reserve than other countries. [U.S. President Joe Biden] said he would take action without hesitation to protect Americans from Putin's price hike," a White House spokesman said.

According to him, it was the actions of the Russian president, with which Biden also agrees, that led to a structural problem in the oil market. “We know there is too little supply to meet demand as Russian oil exits the [US] market <...>. This could stimulate the extra production we need right now to respond to Putin's moves," the official added.

In total, the name of the Russian leader in the American briefing is mentioned 13 times, while the US president is mentioned only seven times.
