The wife of the HEAD of the political council of the Ukrainian party "Opposition Platform - For Life" Viktor Medvedchuk, TV presenter Oksana Marchenko, published a new video message in which she asked the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, to facilitate the exchange of her husband for the British, who, according to her, were captured to the military of Russia and the DPR.
“Your Highness, your country and you personally have historically maintained close ties with the UK. Having the power to influence decisions in London, you can use this influence and ask Prime Minister Boris Johnson to influence President [Ukraine Vladimir] Zelensky to exchange him for British subjects who were taken prisoner by Russian and DNR troops in Ukraine, ”- she said.
Marchenko stressed that Medvedchuk was "detained solely for political reasons" and is being held in "inhuman conditions." “I know and feel that his life is in mortal danger,” she said.

Earlier, on April 16, Medvedchuk's wife turned to the relatives of Aiden Eslin and Sean Pinner, who, according to her, "acted as part of a unit of the 36th Marine Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine" and surrendered to the Armed Forces of Russia and the DPR. Marchenko said that Eslin and Pinner's relatives could ask Johnson to influence the Ukrainian leadership and achieve a prisoner exchange.
The representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, then suggested that “Boris Johnson, who recently traveled to Kyiv, is probably aware of the fate of the subjects of royal majesty,” and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom, Liz Truss, “will tell what the British were doing there in principle.”
Prior to this, Marchenko said that after the arrest, her husband was beaten. She recorded video messages to Zelensky and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. She asked the first to release her husband, the second - to use her influence "for the salvation and release" of Medvedchuk.

The deputy has been under house arrest since May last year, and in February 2022, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine reported that he had escaped. Zelensky said that the opposition politician “hid for 48 days”, after which he tried to leave the country.
The head of state offered Russia to exchange Medvedchuk for captured Ukrainians. Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that the deputy is not a citizen of Russia and has nothing to do with the military operation in Ukraine.
