Evgeniy Repin, the founder of the ButikTon company, told RBC Perm about changes in the musical instrument market, price increases, well-known brands leaving, and the prospects for domestic instrument manufacturers.
On price increases
- The sphere is in a difficult situation. Most goods are imported, prices have risen by up to 60%, for domestic goods, an increase of up to 20%, since they use partially foreign materials.
On the departure of famous brands
- Our sphere is not as large as catering or clothing, so we did not see loud statements in the media, but almost all American and Japanese manufacturers temporarily stopped deliveries to RUSSIA. Temporary, because they still understand that they are interested in the Russian market and they want to work here. Well-known names are Fender, Electrovoice. Yamaha is also unable to provide a delivery date.
About niches for domestic producers
- Domestic producers can replace some niches, for example, the pianoforte. There are both Russia and Belarus high-quality production. Naturally, these are folk instruments: balalaikas, domras, accordions, button accordions. All this is of good quality. In Perm, for example, there is still the production of reed drums, but it is more for EXPORT.
About the most popular instrument - the guitar
- As for the most popular product - guitars, Asian manufacturers will have the least problems, there will be many more of them. In general, domestic guitar manufacturers are not very well represented, it is rather not mass production, but some kind of workshops, but we are now considering the option.
On the prospects of the market
- Now those who purchased the goods are in a strong position. Those who are not so agile, they may have problems with a shortage of goods, I think that the market will become a little empty, some companies may go bankrupt.
