RBC Chernozemye compared the results of the VTsIOM poll with a street poll of Voronezh residents.
On April 20, the All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion presented research data on the plans of Russians for the May holidays. More than half of the population is going to spend the upcoming May holidays at home - 55%, the share of those planning to spend the May holidays in the country was 42%. 15% planned to use the opportunity to diversify their leisure time and visit other places: of these, 13% of respondents consider domestic tourism, 2% say they want to make a trip abroad.
“They prefer a trip to another city or village - 8% of fellow citizens. The Black Sea coast of the Caucasus and Crimea are less popular destinations, with 3% and 2% going there, respectively,” the study says.
The day before, the HEAD of the region, Alexander Gusev, addressed the residents of Voronezh, saying that this time the long May holidays did not find support from the local authorities.
RBC Chernozemye decided to find out what plans the Voronezh residents managed to build for the long-awaited spring weekend. So, about 70% of respondents intend to spend the May holidays with their families, 40% will go to the country to prepare the soil for planting seedlings, carry out scheduled cleaning of the site and, of course, relax in nature. 17% of interviewees tend to be active - they want to walk around the city, go to the movies or take part in events. 10% choose trips close to home - we are talking about hiking in the forest or fishing. About 3% are going to travel long distances, for obvious reasons, they did not consider the option abroad.

What to do?
Due to the difficult geopolitical situation, plans to spend the weekend abroad are postponed indefinitely, but there are still opportunities to diversify leisure. One of them is participation in the excursion program. The head of the excursion department of the travel agency "Leader-Tour" Tatyana Popova told the editors that during the May holidays there is an increase in school tours. Their excursion program is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War. Author's programs are also popular - by May 9, a tour to the hero city of Volgograd will start.
