Over the past three weeks, the Moscow Region has seen a decrease in both the number of cases and those hospitalized with covid-19 . Governor Andrey Vorobyov announced this on air on the Rossiya 1 TV channel.
“In the last two, even three, we see a drastic decline in both detected cases [of CORONAVIRUS infection] and hospitalizations,” Vorobyov said.
He also expressed the hope that vaccination "will bear fruit", despite the threat of a new wave of morbidity due to the emergence of the omicron strain. The governor noted that revaccination is also playing a big role now, without which the pandemic cannot be stopped.
The peak incidence for the entire time of the pandemic in the Moscow region occurred on November 8. Then 3429 cases of infections were recorded. Indicators began to decline in the middle of the month. So, on November 15, the authorities of the Moscow region reported 2666 cases. Over the past day, 1813 cases were detected.
In terms of the total number of infected people detected during the entire pandemic, the Moscow Region is in third place among Russian regions. In the region, 594.8 thousand infected with coronavirus were detected, 10.6 thousand residents of the region died.
