The authorities found violations in the art school from which Raikin was fired

According to the statement of the former artistic DIRECTOR of the school, actor and director Konstantin Raikin, a criminal case was initiated against the rector Anatoly Polyankin on fraud on an especially large scale.

Rosobrnadzor revealed violations in the work of the Higher School of Performing Arts (HSSI, previously named after the actor and director Konstantin Raikin), the agency's press service said.

“The audit was carried out after the collective appeals of students [at] the university on the issue of possible violations of the legislation on education committed by the leadership of the university when issuing an order to suspend educational activities in an educational organization,” TASS quoted the agency as saying.

Rosobrnadzor is considering the issue of issuing a warning to the Higher School of Education and Science about the inadmissibility of violations.

At the end of March, the rector of the school, Anatoly Polyankin, signed an order to suspend the activities of the Higher School of Economics due to "deterioration of the financial situation." The students filed a lawsuit over the decision, and on April 5, the COURT banned the suspension of the school.

On April 12, Polyankin fired actor and director Konstantin Raikin from the post of artistic director of the school. The latter said that he had learned about the dismissal and liquidation of the position of artistic director a month before, and also called these decisions "purposeful methodical destruction" of the university.

School students appealed to the authorities because of Polyankin's decision to fire the artistic director. Their statement said that the rector deprived the school named after Raikin and tried to suspend the educational process without coordinating this with the teaching staff.

On April 15, Polyankin was arrested in a large-scale fraud case. Raikin's lawyers said that the case was initiated at the request of the actor in December 2021. Raikin himself told RBC that he could not comment on the progress of the investigation, since he was the representative of the victim in the criminal case - the Foundation. Raikin (Polyankin and Raikin are its founders, the foundation owns the school building).

In 2021, Polyankin filed a lawsuit to liquidate the foundation, as a result of which the school building was to be transferred to legal entities controlled by him. The court did not uphold this decision, Raikin's lawyers said.

Polyankin himself said that since 2020 he has been receiving demands from Raikin in writing about the need to transfer full control over the school building to the actor. Raikin, according to Polyankin, “scares away” benefactors from financing the Higher School of Economics. Raikin, in response, stated that the rector brought the hotel premises belonging to the fund to his companies, and tried to steal the building of the VSSI, owned by the fund.
