In Russia, almost 10 thousand people were hospitalized with coronavirus per day

Over the past 24 hours, 9,902 people have been hospitalized with CORONAVIRUS infection in RUSSIA, according to the operational headquarters. During the same period, 57.2 thousand people became infected with coronavirus in the country - a record since the beginning of the pandemic.

The headquarters noted that compared to January 21, the number of hospitalizations increased by 8.4%. Then 9136 people were hospitalized with coronavirus.

Statistics on the number of Russians hospitalized with COVID-19 began to be published on January 20. The RBC headquarters explained that this decision was due to the spread of the omicron strain. “Given the peculiarities of the new Omicron strain, primarily its high contagiousness, starting today, in addition to traditional data, the Federal Operational Headquarters will inform citizens about the situation with hospitalization in medical organizations,” the operational headquarters said.

According to the capital's operational headquarters, on January 21, 1,077 people were hospitalized in Moscow. 506 people are currently on artificial lung ventilation (ALV). “The share of hospitalizations for the second day in a row is at the level of 6.7%,” the headquarters noted.
