In RUSSIA, covid-19 is now most common among older people, with a growing number of new patients over the age of 65. This was announced in a conversation with RIA Novosti by the deputy HEAD for clinical work of the Moscow Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology. G.N. “In the group over 65 years old, the number of new cases continues to grow, and the number of cases is now 224 per 100,000 people,” Ruzhentsova specified.

Earlier, on October 26, the head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, announced a high rate of the number of sick elderly Russians. She noted that among people over 65, 224 people fall ill per 100,000 people, while the national average is much lower - 172.1 people per 100,000 people. Popova added that the elderly are now a high-risk group, which means that the healthcare system should focus on helping them.
According to the head of Rospotrebnadzor, in all regions the number of new patients with COVID-19 detected daily is growing by 8-15%. The only exceptions are two subjects of the country - Chukotka and Bashkiria. However, in 32 regions of Russia last week, the incidence rates not only increased, but also exceeded the average Russian incidence rate, Popova specified.
