In patients with the "delta" variant of covid-19 , the disease often occurs in moderate and severe forms, RIA Novosti was told in the press service of Rospotrebnadzor.

“The course of the disease in the “delta” variant of CORONAVIRUS infection is more rapid and more often more severe - patients are dominated by moderate, severe, asymptomatic and mild forms are less common,” the department said.

Such patients require longer treatment, they noted. The "delta" strain is more often affected by young people aged 14 to 29 years.

The "Delta" variant manifests itself with the same symptoms as other strains of coronavirus: fever, cough, loss of smell and taste. He also has symptoms of acute respiratory viral infections and intestinal infections: runny nose, headache, sore throat, diarrhea, and less often nausea, Rospotrebnadzor said.
