Suspects of selling vaccination certificates were detained in St. Petersburg

The police of St. Petersburg detained those suspected of selling false "covid" certificates, including vaccination, according to the website of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city.

“On June 17 and 18, in St. Petersburg , police officers implemented a set of operational and preventive measures to identify the facts of trade in fake medical documents, primarily related to the CORONAVIRUS infection,” the message says.

In two days, as a result of test purchases, the police revealed five facts of the sale of fake medical documents. According to the police, as a rule, false certificates were ordered via the Internet. The buyer was assigned a time and place, the ordered certificate was handed over to him by a courier. it was possible to buy both certificates of vaccination against coronavirus and negative tests, as well as certificates of contraindications to vaccination. The average price for a certificate ranged from 2,000 to 2,500 rubles.

The police caught three couriers red-handed. The driver of a foreign car was also detained, in the trunk of which letterheads and seals of medical institutions were found. He confessed to selling false certificates.

The day before, the press service of the Moscow police reported that 24 criminal cases had been opened for the manufacture and sale of false certificates of the absence of covid-19 and vaccination certificates. Several cases have already gone to trial. In particular, a woman was detained in the Northern Administrative District for selling vaccination certificates for 5,000 rubles.

Earlier, the Moscow authorities, against the backdrop of a worsening situation with the coronavirus, announced mandatory vaccination of
60% of workers in the service sector, trade, catering, transport, healthcare, housing and communal services, education and culture. Following the capital, a similar decision for some categories of workers was made by a number of regions.
