Paris to make it mandatory to wear face masks outside due to omicron

Wearing a mask outdoors, indoors or outdoors in a city like Paris, the police added, would be an important barrier that could greatly limit the spread of infection. This requirement applies to all people over 11 years of age. An exception is made, in particular, for cyclists and those involved in sports.

“The police prefecture will conduct regular and enhanced checks in the near future to ensure that this requirement is met, especially in crowded areas of the capital. Failure to comply with this measure will result in a fine of 135 euros (11.3 thousand rubles),” the message says.

According to the Minister of Solidarity and HEALTH, Olivier Veran, every second more than two French people are infected with the coronavirus, reports the newspaper Ouest-France.
