At the Faculty of Physics of Moscow State University, they decided to postpone lectures about the Nobel Peace Prize winner, Academician Andrei Sakharov, due to the busy schedule of the educational process, RBC was told in the press service of the faculty.
“We had an idea to give a few lectures about his life and scientific achievements. However, unfortunately, now we have a very busy schedule of the educational process, a lot of tests and exams, so the lectures were postponed. In the conditions of the test and examination session after the restoration of the educational process after the pandemic, it is quite difficult to implement this, ”the message says.
The press service of the faculty claims that there was no official announcement of the lectures on the website of the university or the Faculty of Physics, and there is no exact date for the lectures yet.

The cancellation of lectures on Sakharov's activities was reported by the Moscow State University Initiative Group on TELEGRAM. “A few hours before the event, the university leadership, through the dean’s office of the Faculty of Physics, canceled the lectures without explaining the reasons,” the report said.
Andrei Sakharov is a Soviet theoretical physicist, one of the creators of the first hydrogen bomb in the USSR. He is also known as a public figure, human rights activist and dissident. In 1975, he received the Nobel Peace Prize for his public work. May 21 marks the 100th anniversary of Sakharov's birth.
