China urged to carefully open parcels from abroad due to COVID-19

Chinese authorities urged people to open overseas parcels wearing masks and gloves because of suspicions about the transfer of "omicron" through the mail. This was reported by REUTERS with reference to the Chinese television company CCTV.

“Be sure to protect yourself during the face-to-face transfer and wear masks and gloves; try opening the package in the open air," the message said.

The Chinese authorities also called for minimizing the purchase of foreign goods or the receipt of parcels from abroad. They also called for the disinfection of parcels and only vaccinated employees to work with foreign mail.
