In Yerevan, the second day of protests began with street closures and arrests

Opposition activists blocked one of the central streets of Yerevan - Komitas in the morning. it is reported by Sputnik-Armenia.

Activists lit flares. According to the newspaper, Levon Kocharyan, the son of the second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan, is taking part in the action.

In addition, the protesters blocked traffic along Baghramyan Avenue. The Yerevan police began to detain oppositionists and disperse groups of protesters. 

On the eve of the Armenian security forces detained 189 people at mass protests in Yerevan. They are suspected of disobeying the lawful demands of the police. Among the detainees were the leader of the Azatagrum movement and the ex-head of the Russian society Tsargrad in Armenia, Mikael Badalyan. The list also includes a member of the Motherland party Arsen Babayan, who was detained while trying to block the street, Yerkir.am reports. According to the publication, Armen Ashotyan, vice president of the Republican Party of Armenia, the party of former President Serzh Sargsyan, was also detained.

The opposition of Armenia announced "large-scale actions of civil disobedience" from May 2. The protesters are demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
