In Bashkiria, 3,502 people have been diagnosed with CORONAVIRUS over the past day, the operational headquarters for combating covid-19 in the republic reports. Records for the daily incidence of infection continue to be updated daily in the region for more than two weeks. A day earlier, the diagnosis was confirmed in 3257 people, the day before - in 2999 residents of the republic. The total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic in Bashkiria is 160,919 people.

135,321 patients have already managed to cope with the disease for the entire period of the spread of the infection, 1,187 people were discharged with recovery the day before. 4920 patients died from coronavirus, 17 deaths were recorded over the past day.

The campaign for mass vaccination of the population continues in the republic. The first component has already vaccinated 2.4 million people in the region, the second - 2.26 million people. At the end of January, Bashkiria received the first batch of 2.8 thousand doses of a coronavirus vaccine for adolescents, now the stock has already been exhausted, the region is waiting for a new batch of Sputnik M to arrive.

As RBC Ufa reported, the increase in the incidence of coronavirus in the republic and in RUSSIA is taking place against the backdrop of the spread of the omicron strain of infection. Experts predicted that the peak of the fifth wave of the pandemic in Bashkiria would be in mid-February. According to open data analyst Alexander Dragan, the decline in the wave will be long, as world practice shows, during the recession the number of cases of "micron" is greater than during intensive growth and peak.

In general, 197,949 cases of coronavirus were detected in the country over the past day, 12,653 people were hospitalized. Compared with the previous day, the number of both sick and hospitalized decreased by 6 thousand. 706 people died per day. The total death toll from COVID-19 has reached 340,248.
