More than 10,000 citizens have complained about the side effects of the CORONAVIRUS vaccine. 400 of them applied for compensation to the Pharmaceutical Risk Insurance Company. By the end of August, compensation had been paid in less than 90 cases, according to the Yle information portal.

Compensation for pain

According to insurance rules, compensation can be claimed if a person suffers from side effects for more than two weeks after vaccination. In addition, a citizen who has spent more than 85 euros on the treatment of side effects can demand money. The average amount of compensation was 2,000 euros.

According to Tiina Hellgren, CEO of the Pharmaceutical Risk Insurance Company, in most cases, compensation was paid for short-term ailments. “Typical cases are when a vaccine gives a person a rash that takes more than two weeks to heal. Another typical case is when the lymph nodes swell and hurt, and the pain lasts more than two weeks. The third, perhaps most typical, case is when a fever rises from a vaccine, followed by a headache, and flu-like symptoms appear. Pain in the hands. Sometimes you have to take sick leave,” she explains.

Complaints about vaccines

Finland, we recall, only recognizes vaccines approved by the European Medicines Agency (Moderna, Oxford/AstraZeneca, Pfizer/BioNTech.Johnson & Johnson). To date, about 6.7 million coronavirus vaccinations have been made in the country; about 2.7 million people (about 50% of the population) completed the full vaccination cycle. In total, more than 10,000 people applied to the Fimea Pharmaceutical Safety and Development Center with a complaint about the side effects of the vaccine (as of August 27). Of these, more than 2,000 relate to severe symptoms, about 1,000 to mild ones. Severe symptoms were recorded in only six cases - they concerned problems with blood clotting after the Astra Zeneca vaccine.

Earlier, RBC reported that Oxford University staff identified the risk of cardiovascular disease after vaccination against covid-19 . But the risk of such symptoms appearing due to the disease itself is higher, so scientists recommend getting vaccinated against the virus.
