In addition, the G20 countries called for "meaningful and effective" action to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius, reports REUTERS. The declaration notes that global warming of 1.5 degrees will affect the climate much less than a warming of 2 degrees. “Keeping [warming] within one and a half degrees will require <...> commitment from all countries,” the document says.

According to Reuters, the participating countries announced their intention to provide technological assistance to developing countries to phase out coal energy.
