The situation with CORONAVIRUS in Russia

On June 19, Moscow recorded a daily record for the incidence of COVID-19  - 9120 people. In Russia, for the second day in a row, more than 17 thousand infected were detected.

Due to the continuing increase in the number of cases in the country, Russian regions continue to tighten restrictions: in St. Petersburg, they set a limit on the number of fans in the Euro fan zone, closed water parks and attractions, and limited the operation of water transport. In addition, the authorities have obliged state institutions to vaccinate 65% of employees against coronavirus. Mandatory vaccination against coronavirus for certain categories of citizens, following Moscow, the Moscow region, the Leningrad region, Kuzbass, Sakhalin and Tula, was introduced in the Tver region. In Moscow, coronavirus began to be detected in previously vaccinated and recovered patients, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said. He attributed it to the more aggressive Indian strain. According to the head of the Center Gamaleya, this strain is "angrier" and more quickly leads to a severe form of the disease. COVID-19 will spread even faster, Rospotrebnadzor predicted. The reason is the small number of vaccinated and recovered patients who have preserved antibodies, explained specialist Anna Speranskaya. The "only salvation" against the rapid spread of new strains is vaccination, she noted.
