Due to the increase in the spread of the omicron strain of CORONAVIRUS, a reserve of beds in hospitals for patients with covid-19 should be left , Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin believes. He gave such advice to the heads of other Russian regions at a meeting of the Presidium of the Coordinating Council under the Government to Combat Coronavirus. The broadcast was conducted by the TV channel "Russia 24".

“I would recommend to colleagues from other subjects not to completely withdraw the bed fund, leaving a “hot reserve”, given what we see,” the mayor of the capital said. He connects his concerns with the fact that Omicron has a higher incidence rate than previous mutations of the coronavirus.

According to Sobyanin, in Moscow the reserve of beds is 46%.

Sobyanin told who more often went to the hospital with covid

The mayor called the current epidemiological situation in the capital "calm" and pointed to a significant decrease in the number of cases and hospitalizations. According to him, the incidence compared with the previous peak has decreased by two-thirds, and the number of hospitalizations in the city has decreased by half.
