The Moscow City Hall decided to overhaul the Krylatskoye Ice Palace, the work should take several months and be completed by September 2023. This was announced in his TELEGRAM channel by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin .

The Krylatskoye sports complex is almost 20 years old - the ice palace was opened in 2004, since then there have been numerous international and Russian competitions, primarily in speed skating and bandy. Since 2020, patients with a confirmed diagnosis of covid-19 have been placed in Krylatskoye .

Now the authorities of the capital are planning to return to the arena the holding of sports and cultural events. The overhaul will include:

restoration of floors broken in places of dismantled engineering networks; repair of the facade, restoration of the concrete base of the ice field, fencing of the stands and the underfloor heating system; replacement of flooring and lighting, interior decoration and much more.
