Roskomnadzor announced the preparation of possible restrictions for YouTube

The restrictions considered by the department are related to the blocking of the Youtube channel RT auf Sendung on the day of its launch in Germany in December last year.

Roskomnadzor is considering economic measures against YouTube video hosting due to the systematic blocking of Russian media channels, including for blocking the RT auf Sendung channel on the day of its launch. This was reported by "Izvestia" with reference to the message of the regulator.

According to the publication, as restrictive measures, the agency considers economic restrictions, which are provided for by the Federal Law “On the activities of foreign persons in the Internet information and telecommunication network on the territory of the Russian Federation” No. 236 of 07/01/2021.

it is noted that this law, among other things, provides for the possibility of a ban on advertising, search results, restriction of payments, as well as money transfers.
