Putin explained to the President of Finland the reasons for the special operation in Ukraine Vladimir Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a telephone conversation with Finnish leader Sauli Niinistö, told him the reasons for conducting a military special operation in Ukraine, the Kremlin press service reports.

“Vladimir Putin explained in detail the reasons for the Russian special military operation to protect Donbass, its goals and objectives, and also informed about the progress of ongoing negotiations with Ukrainian representatives,” the statement said.

The heads of state also discussed humanitarian issues and measures to ensure the security of Ukrainian citizens and the organization of humanitarian corridors.

Putin and Niinistö agreed to stay in touch on Ukrainian issues and the Russian-Finnish agenda.
